Today Rahul Gandhi officially took over the charge
as the President of the world’s oldest political party Indian National Congress
(INC) from his mother Sonia Gandhi who had been service since 1998. While today
leaders and party workers of INC are celebrating, arch rival BJP seems unhappy
with this decision. Since this announcement has been made, the leaders of the
current ruling party are constantly accusing of nepotism in the Congress.
According to Sachin Pilot, President of Indian
National Congress-Rajasthan and former union minister the reactions coming from
BJP are completely irrelevant. Sharing his views during a press conference in
Jaipur he said “BJP need to understand that Rahul Gandhi Ji has been elected
not appointed. INC has a transparent election procedure for its Presidentship
and this time no one contested against Rahul Gandhi. Secondly it’s Rahul Ji who
has been elected as the INC’s president, why BJP leaders having stomach ache?”
Pilot has also accused BJP for not having such
transparent party election procedure. Questioning BJP’s National President Amit
Shah’s appointment he said “Congress has chosen Rahul Ji as its president with
a consensus, but can the BJP leaders answer that how Amit Shah became their
president? The news of Rahul Ji being elected as the INC’s President has
created the panic among the BJP leaders. It’s taking dozens of ministers and
leaders just to counter Rahul Ji’s one statement. It can be seen that the BJP
is not only unhappy but also fears Rahul Ji.”
Congratulating Rahul Gandhi on becoming President of
Indian National Congress, Pilot said “Rahul Gandhiji is the demand of today's
time. Today, not just the Congress but the entire country needs a leader like
him who gives priority to the welfare of the country but not the power.”
"It’s a big day for the congress and a lot of
responsibilities on the shoulders of our new president Rahul Gandhi Ji. I am sure he will surmount all the political
challenges and live up to the expectations of the party workers and that of the
people of India,” Tweeted Sachin Pilot.
